My Tribute
17th June 2005
whilst drowning in the depths of the carvenous sinus, subconsciously i was reflecting on my life and how it has changed. This is my tribute to my home Singapore. (note: this poem doesnt reflect my feelings abt my dearest family or friends)
Disillusioned
Everyday that I was there,
Slab by slab, you constructed me.
Chipping away splinters of infidelities,
A perfect box, straight out, from your factory.
But the winds of truth has ratttled me,
This inconsolable anger of naivety.
Each seam, you see, is breaking free,
A freedom, I never knew I had in me.
No longer your power can nail me in,
Neither your laws nor biased doctrine.
This iron cage you tried to trap me,
Holds no longer the dreams, you taught me to see.
A broken box now out of place,
No longer at home with its own race.
Why am I not desirable to purchase?
The emptiness of their promises, dare you face?
~disillusioned beyond hope, cynical beyond redemption~
