OMG

Can I just say this:

OMG the application to SA is so dead simple, it's not funny. Victoria should follow their process. So easy, it's unbelievable.

No referees needed. No individual online applications and cover letters addressing specific criteria. Nope. Nada.

Not even a digital picture required. Not even a non-medical referee writing a summary of your character in less than 200 words. Seriously how simple. Just fill in a 5 page form, send in transcripts, CV and visa. Fill in the order of hospitals. Finish!

Aaarrrrghhhhh, seriously I'm so sick of writing individualised cover letters and CVs to ten different hospitals. So. Not. Fun. And then there's still interviews!

Ooooh following Elia's post, me want baby too! I'm in the wrong profession man. GIRLS, we should all job share or something.

(Shout out to Munirah - auf Wiedersehen! Err I hope that means what I think it means. Have a safe flight dear.)

That's cos all the hospitals are somewhat controlled by the Health Board - so it seems more logical to apply through one central body. Tell me your choices if you intend to apply, and I'll help find out your chances of getting in (because the first in the list is always the most important). Since the lifestyle here is by leaps and bounds more tepid than Melbourne, there's lots of teaching for the interns. We have lots of Sydneysiders and Londoners training here, and they keep telling me to stay because there's more autonomy.

But unfortunately entry to training positions here in SA are shit tough.

PS. And did I mention that we are the highest paying state for internship?

yeah, my classmates have talking about the difficult the application process in Victoria. particularly those who're from victoria and have got family and a whole life there- they're pretty worried about not being able to get to the hospital they want.

meanwhile, i still havent even decided for certain if i'm staying or going back to singapore. first, of course, elia must get through her exams this year. GAH.

yaya: hmm good point, babies can boom the economy?

mus: hmm not sure abt which to put first but prob metro over rural most likely - the pay is attractive considering i'm going to give most of it to my parents - i think interns back home earn base rate $2670?

elia: hey i met somi at careers fair! haha yes this internship application is probably more stressful than exams i have to say. whatever hospital you get, you get. can't swap or apply for another. it's like if you gg to mildura, there's no getting out of it unless you have an interstate offer. it like sooo final you know.

STRESS.
