A shot of vanilla please
I've just started my Child Psychiatry rotation. Fascinating so far.
I never knew that a bottle of vanilla essence has 34% alcohol content. And if you're underage and in desperate need to lose yourself, the way to go is to drink 10 bottles of vanilla essence and come in with a blood alcohol content that would kill you. Who knew eh?
Amidst all of this, internship applications have opened recently and it's been really quite a task. Every hospital requires a separate application and each has different criteria that they want and so you basically have to go through each website, get the important bits and tailor the CV and cover letters. And all in just a bit of 2 weeks to get this sorted out.
Plus some of the applications require a digital photo. &*^$&@!!! Photos just shouldn't be part of the application man. I still have one more referee to go and I'm slowly getting annoyed at having to wait so long. Otherwise, next few weeks will be quite busy with information sessions, career fair and following that, hopefully interviews. I'm not setting high expectations. The reality is, at the end of the day, I'm still an international student and we just aren't guaranteed a spot. So insyaAllah, I'll get an internship spot that is suitable. I'll probably apply to SA.
Otherwise, child pscyhiatry has been quite relaxing. 9 am starts are the way to go these days. In other bits of my life, things have changed and I hope for the better. So far, it's been positive. Family will be leaving for umrah soon. They know what I'm praying for.
I have to say for all the worry - Alhamdulillah.
