Patient: So where are you from?

Me: Singapore.

Patient: Ooh! Singapore!

I'm smiling and waiting for the 'I've been to the airport' line.

Patient: They have lots of pretty ladies there.

Heh?

Me: Oh really you think so?

Patient: Yeah, I saw them on the flight back here. Very pretty ladies they make in Singapore.

haha, yeah, i always clarify if they've been there on transit or if they've actually been there.

lol... you should tell him that making babies is far from being the national industry of Singapore just yet.

hahaha the airport... although I think Changi is pretty good fun to hang about in, all things considered.

What do people say about KL? ... hmmm ... often, "My mom comes from KL" or "I've been shopping there" but actually I get too many "Oh I stopped in KLIA on the way to/from Singapore".

At least they can tell the difference I guess.

Little does the patient know that if he were to indeed step into Singapore, the sights would literally take his (much needed) breath away - or if not, then certainly the crude Singlish would make his toes curl.

Perhaps he should have been a bit more open to the possibility that the ladies in the plane are not Singaporean.

Not that we're severely lacking in looks - some are absolutely ravishing! - but I think Singapore is more famous for Lee Kuan Yew, stifling of free speech and kiasuism (not that all these points are related).

mus: ah well sing airlines does have a reputation for having strict 'body shapes' for their singapore girls. which is really not reflective of the truth.
