Sing baby sing
Graduation dinner was awesome. The Carousel at Albert Park Lake was very cosy and elegant with an awesome view of the lake and the city skyline at night. I would recommend it for weddings and anniversaries (for pictures and videos, pleases check fb). It was really nice to have everyone together although some were notable missing.
I'm feeling quite deliriously happy these days. Very excited to move out, surprisingly quite sad to leave Clayton campus that has been home to me for 5 years. I will definitely miss working at the dining hall, especially the free food!!
I was so happy after last night, I woke up bright and early today to go for a prize exam. Although I was totally unprepared having only known that I was nominated only 3 days ago and I was wearing wrinkled pants to meet the 3 consultants that would be interviewing me; I felt incredibly peaceful. And even if I don't even come close to winning it, who cares? I've finished MBBS! Oh yeah.
This month also marked the going of my flatmates back to their homeland. I was very sad to see them go - afterall without me having to say much, they were very astute and it has made me realise that true colours always show eventually.
I'm taking their advice. I'm letting go. Afterall, if my own family members are any example to go by (parents please grow up), not letting go only eats the heart away and makes one very bitter and resentful. And who loves the bitter eh?
So here's to you and me and you and you and you. See that light? It's shining bright and let's sing baby let's sing.
We all call Monash home
I've worked on units that should be closed down,
From the Trauma at the Alfred to old Bairnsdale town.
But no matter to which hospital next year we will go,
We all, call Monash home!
I went on electives, I flew near and far,
From Kenya to Cambridge, they don't know who we are.
So I showed them my Chess-C, SENSE and ISBAR,
Now they know how cool we are! Not.
A consultant once failed me on three MCRS,
Said I didn't know my anatomy, but he can shove it up his &*%.
Those kind of doctors, they really make me groan,
Our inspiration is closer to home.
There's a special woman in the audience, why don't you tell us about her?
All the girls in medicine want to be like Julia Harrison!
With her baby, her job and the Sim Centre.
ISBAAAR!
All the guys in medicine think that Brendan Flanagan rocks!
But thats 'coz he's picked up a fox!
This last verse goes out to our international friends who are leaving us:
Thanks for your company and thanks for your cash!
But the immigration deparment wants you out of Monash.
So if you ever get lonesome, just pick up the phone,
We all call Monash,
A member of Australia's elite Group of 8 universities.
We all call Monash,
The 167th highest ranked university in the world equal with Turkmenistani Insitute.
We all call Monash,
A publicly-funded benevolent institution.
We all call Monash,
The only university going for world domination!
We all call Monash,
......sensitive
And specific.
We all call Monash home!
