Just twenty
Plenty to say but mostly confidential and can't be said here. So instead, you're about to be bored to death about 25 random things about me!! Actually if I can't think of 25, I may cut it short. Here goes:
1) I don't like being called Sharifah. Mun is ok. Muni not ok. Sharif definitely not ok (to consultant who decided to shorten my name). Other nicknames that are acceptable: Shamun (only by my girlfriends who know me and the other Mun) and Munzy (by Mus).
2) I've always wanted to learn to play the piano or the violin. I've scrapped violin off the list but piano may still be possible.
3) I prefer conversation not small talk. Let's just get straight to the point ok?
4) I've always been a girl's girl. I don't socialise well with the opposite gender. Just the way it is. But if you strike a conversation with me first, I should be ok. Actually that applies to all new people.
5) I really really abhor domestic violence. It intimidates me and I don't like the feeling.
6) I used to be the only girl who attended Tae-Kwan-Do at my brother's school. My dad forced me to join it with my brothers.
7) I am a fraternal twin as most of you know. But if you didn't, his name is Munir. My parents were very creative about names.
8) The perfect guy.......doesn't exist. The perfect love does.
9) I have a thing for a shaggy dog.
10) Friends in high school/JC used to think I'm 'garang' or 'step' or 'sombong'. Apa tengok? Seriously, I don't bite.
11) I am highly organised and I like routines. I always wake up, have a shower and my morning coffee, usually in the sun. I'm not usually spontaneous. I like to plan my day so I get the most out of my day. Read: I dislike inefficiency.
12) Once, someone said to me 'to be careful' because I might be Vitamin D deficient. Go fish blondehead.
13) I think people shouldn't keep pets. Unless if you free them, they come back to you.
14) I think we should open up recycle clothing stores in Singapore. I'm not sure how popular it would be though. Once, my sister's domestic helper said in Indonesian to the effect of 'we have become so affluent that we can discard old clothes regularly'. I don't like throwing away clothes. Such a waste of cloth and resource. So my sister's maids have lots of my branded clothing.
15) One of my perennial favourite topics is 'it's the end of the world'. Seriously, it's flooding like crazy up north and burning like hell down south in the same continent. And building a 7-star hotel for the insanely filthy rich so much so that it's practically vulgar to even look at the monstrosity, knowing that poverty is just down the road just does not make sense.
16) I can't think of anything more to say.
17) After 20 minutes. Oh I've always wanted one of those old stained-glass bedside lamps.
18) I nicknamed Faheem ulat bom-bom and now my family call him bom-bom. Because he has a cute butt and he is like an ulat. He would quite literally just sprawl himself all over you or worm around you to get to his most comfortable position.
19) Why do they call it pencil skirts? It doesn't look anything like a pencil.
20) Ok I'm stopping at twenty. If you don't know what to get for me, you will always be safe with buying flowers :).
I'm off to the hospital to demand my public holiday rates from payroll. Adios.
